How do I begin the process of having decals applied to my vehicle?
The first step is for you to bring the vehicle into Signet’s Winchester office, so our sign department can photograph it and take measurements. If you provide us with an e-mail address or fax number, we can use the photos to provide you with a visual proof of what the finished decals will look like on your vehicle. Once you have approved a final design, we can set up an appointment for you to bring in for decal application.
Should I wash the vehicle before my decal application appointment?
Yes, please do! A clean vehicle will make the application much quicker. When you wash it, however, DO NOT apply any protective wax or Rain-X, as this will interfere with your decals adhering to the surface.
What time should I bring in my vehicle for my appointment?
Signet opens at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The earlier you bring the vehicle in on the day of your appointment, the sooner you can drive off with the finished product. Please do not bring it before business hours, however, as our office does not have a drop-box for keys, and we may have questions for you.
Are decal applications done while I wait?
No, please have a ride available so that you can drop the vehicle off and pick it up once the application is finished. Decal application is a meticulous process that can take several hours. You don’t want to wait here for that long, and you don’t want us to rush your application!
How will I know when my finished vehicle is ready to be picked up?
We’ll give you a call when the application is finished, so make sure we’ve got your phone number. If you can’t pick your vehicle up until after we’ve closed at 5:00 p.m., and your invoice has been paid in full, we can lock the vehicle with the keys inside upon request.
Is the weather a factor?
That depends on the size of your vehicle. If the vehicle is under 9 feet tall and 23 feet long (a normal car, pickup, or van), then we can use our indoor bay for the application, rain or shine. However, if the vehicle is too large to pull into our bay (a box-truck or 18-wheeler), then applications must be scheduled on dry days when the temperature is between 57° and 87° F.
What happens if I can’t make my appointment?
Emergencies happen, and we understand. Please be considerate, however, and give us a call at (540) 665-9651 so that we can reschedule your application.
How soon can I wash the vehicle after my appointment?
To give the decals time to adhere properly, please let the vehicle sit at least 24 hours in the sun or a warm garage before washing. To ensure the longevity of your decals, refrain from using power washers or brush washing. A no-touch wash is your best bet.
Will you remove my vehicle’s old decals / emblems / molding?
No, removal is not one of our services.
